Frequently Asked Questions

Q. How long is a typical session?

A. A typical session lasts from 60-90 minutes depending on your needs and schedule. Your initial visit will be 90 minutes to allow time to talk and assess your situation.

Q. How often do I have to go?

A. The frequency of your visits will depend on the severity and acuity of your problem and the amount of time and resources you have to dedicate to solving the issue. Generally the more severe or acute the injury, the better the response will be to more frequent visits. If you are able to perform the prescribed exercises and activities on your own, you may be able to come less often.

Q. How soon will I start to feel better?

A. Every body is different, and each person’s circumstances are unique so everyone responds differently to treatment. People often separate their “self” from their bodies, and treatment involves not just healing the body but reintegration of the mind and body.

After your first treatment you should feel more relaxed, with better mobility and less pain, but often it requires about 3 to 5 treatments to make changes that last.

Q. What if I’m afraid of needles, or I can’t have acupuncture? Does the treatment hurt?

A. You are the captain of your own ship, and the treatment will be based around what you are comfortable with and able to experience. I have more techniques and tools at my disposal than just acupuncture, and most issues can still be successfully treated without the use of needles.

For most patients, any pain or discomfort during treatment is minimal, and you always have final say on the treatment received. There are many ways to get up this mountain and we're going to get there together.

Q. Are your services covered by my medical insurance?

A. My goal is always to treat in the most effective way and provide the level of personal attention needed to make massive change. Because of that, I do accept some medical insurance plans as an out-of-network provider. Not all insurance plans will pay for service from out-of-network providers, so contact your insurance company or I can assist in determining your coverage level. If financial limitations are a concern, we can work together to find a solution.

Q. Can you come treat me at my home?

A. Yes! I am available to come and provide concierge treatment at your home. In those cases you will need to provide a treatment table and the cost will vary. Please contact me via phone or email if this is something you would be interested in.
